40&8 Veterans invite Press to National Convention in Orlando Sept 3 - 6, 2008

INDIANAPOLIS  July 29, 2008   The national headquarters of the Forty & Eight veterans organization will hold its 89th annual Promenade Nationale (national convention) at the Rosen Plaza Hotel and Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, September 3 - 6, 2008.

The Forty & Eight's national commander, Chef de Chemin de Fer Bernie Sampson, of Woodville, NY, cordially invites all members of the media to attend.

The Forty & Eight recognizes the key importance of the Press.

"When tyrants overseas take over a country, the first thing they get rid of is the free Press" said Sampson.

"America's veterans who have fought for freedom abroad, understand that a free Press helps keep freedom strong here at home."

Sampson welcomed "All members of the Press to please join us in celebrating our upcoming Promenade Nationale in Orlando."

Convention activities will include a display of parade "locomotives", a party for disadvantaged area children, and recognition of the organization's "Americanism" and "Law Officer of the Year" award recipients; plus various activities related to the organization's many charitable and patriotic programs,  including Child Welfare, Youth Sports, and Nurse's Training.
